Book Groups
We run five evening book groups, four taking place upstairs in The Lansdown pub and one in The Royal Oak, both near the shop.
Please contact us if you are interested in joining. We ask that you purchase a copy of the book from us or a different book if you already own that month’s choice. Fiction, Ruthless and Short Fiction are currently full; let us know if you would like to join the waiting lists.
In The Lansdown, 18.30-19.45:
- Short Fiction Book Club (novellas and short stories) is on the second Tuesday of every month.
- Ruthless Book Club is on the second Thursday of every month; Ruthless attendees will find we read experimental, dark, genre-bending writing – nothing is off limits.
- Fiction Book Club is on the last Wednesday of the month.
- Non-fiction Book Club is on the last Monday of the month. For at least June and July we are pausing this group due to a few too many demands on our time. We’ll update here when we can return.
Poetry Book Club takes place upstairs at The Royal Oak, 18.30-19.45, on the first Wednesday of every month. Do note the new later time. We ask that you buy the book from us and that you buy something in the pub – they do have plenty of coffees/soft drinks as well as excellent harder drinks…!
